A new proposal for the creation of an African community appeared on the Free TON forum. This project received positive feedback from Free TON forum members in the comments. In the article, we will see in detail what prospects this subgovernance gives the community, how relevant is its creation today, from which countries the users will be attracted, and whether the IT sphere and cryptocurrencies are popular on the African continent.
Let’s start with the audience that the community will reach. The population of the African continent is 1.2 billion people, 28.2% of the population has access to the Internet, which is about 338 million people. However, I would like to note that Africa is a developing continent in which American and European companies are actively investing. Also, due to the lack of a sufficient number of jobs, many residents take up cryptocurrencies and IT technologies without leaving their homes. In my opinion, there is a problem in the form of a multilingual population, of course, most of the population speaks European languages, but they are different and therefore it would be nice for a developer to create content in several languages, possibly with the help of other subgovernance, for example, the French-speaking population in Africa 141 million, so they can request help with French content from French subgovernance.
The task of the future community will be to attract the maximum number of new participants, taking into account the trends in the African blockchain community. Together with new users, subgovernance plans to develop Free Ton and create new projects. Also, it is planned to search for new partners in the form of organizations, companies, and development teams that will contribute to the development of the project. Africa is a whole continent, therefore the creation of a subgovernance, a separate platform in the form of a Landing page and separate contests. Since the project can simultaneously receive even more users, validators, and recognition, the site will also have its own specifics associated with another culture, which must be taken into account by the creators when developing.
The main directions of development in the first month:
- Creation of main media content (Website, blog, social networks, etc.)
- Distribution of responsibilities for maintaining and creating content.
- Preparation of development programs
- Selection of jury members
The main directions of development in the second month:
- Conducting a contest aimed at improving the project and promoting Free TON.
The main directions of development in the third month:
- Preparation of progress reports
- Preparation of a new development program
For the first three months, for the development of the community, the organizers have requested a total of 383,250 TONs.
African subgovernance will allow promoting Free TON and blockchain technologies on the African mainland, where IT technologies are actively developing.
